Christmas Pizza Party at Peter’s – December 2024

Sally and I were the first to arrive and were welcomed by Gillian and Peter.

After a short while we were joined by a few more members and spent some time chatting in the warmth of Peters living room.

Pizzas had been bought in, which we could add our own extra toppings to. There was plenty for everyone and a good supply of drinks available.

We had the company of Colin and Sadie, who told us about their naked bike ride and Colins new book ‘The Naked Forager’ which was due to be published soon.

We chatted about various clubs we had been to, holiday resorts and Nudefest.

It was lovely to meet people and we made some new friends. Before we knew it, it was midnight and people had made their way home. Fortunately we were staying the night, so were able to retire to bed instead of driving back to Skipton.

We are so glad we went.

Golborne Swim – July 2024

55 Park Road, Golborne, Warrington WA3 3PT

Just back from the Naturist swim at Swim@55. Had a wonderful time, It passed all too quickly, As new members, we were made very welcome by everyone. Had some good conversations in the pool, interspersed with lots of swimming. Its not a massive pool, but it is a lovely warm one. We both cant wait for the next one. Highly recommended.

Some of us continued the chatting by going to the local pub, the Queen Anne after the swim.

Nudefest, Thorney Lakes, Somerset – June 2024

Drone flying at Nudefest

Once the advance guard of Simon, Art and Steve arrived in Somerset on Monday, Gillian and Peter followed on arriving on site from their B & B accommodation five miles away, The group then socialised with the around seven hundred people there as well as having a group barbeque on the Wednesday evening.

The weather remained kind for most of the four day main event and many friendships were renewed and made, a lovely week away.

Peter’s Summer Pizza PartyJune 2024

On Sunday 16th June a small group of seven met up at Peters to celebrate Summer and sit out in the sun on the patio before preparing their own pizzas for an evening of chat and planning future events. We hope to do it again later in the summer before it will return to its usual position in the calendar between Christmas and New Year.

Ribble Valley Naturist Club – May 2024

Our first big event of the new season – our Group visit to Ribble Valley Naturist Club, Lancashire’s most welcoming Naturist Club, situated in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley.

We started the weekend by enjoying the club facilities and grounds on the Friday. The evening included a quiz, traditional Lancashire Hotpot. Later the music was provided by Peter’s iPhone after he triumphed in the quiz with the assistance of Gillian, well done to Geoff for the misleading questions.

On Saturday some of those who fancied it took a slightly longer than planned walk but still managed to find the White Bull in Ribchester at the end of it.

On Saturday evening, we joined Ribble Valley members for their annual table top race night with the club are providing a filled baked potato supper, followed by a selection of sweets.

Sunday included a lunchtime barbecue (bring your own) and an afternoon of outdoor and indoor game. The choice of games includes; boules, giant Jenga, miniten, water polo, mölkki, pool and table tennis.

They ordered a takeaway in for “tea” followed by more fellowship in the clubhouse, or chilling on the patio.

Nothing formally organised for the Bank Holiday Monday, but there were the beautiful grounds, pool, sauna and hot tub, not to mention the beautiful Ribble Valley to enjoy.

Ashdene Naturist Club – March 2024 – Another warm winter welcome in Calderdale

The facilities at Ashdene are first class, and include a large heated swimming pool, sauna, 8 person hot tub, showers, a full bar, spacious indoor seating, a large hall for live music events, and even a pool table. Set within acres of ground surrounded by tall woodland, it has plenty of space to bring your own caravan or camper, or even your own tent. Ashdene has a very easy to use online booking system, where you can easily see available dates. I have stayed here many times, in two caravans and in my tent for both day visits and longer stays.

The caravans were warm and well looked after. Couples and singles are made very welcome, and the people are extremely friendly. Ashdene hosts many event nights, with a packed attendance, mostly live bands and game nights. Although I have visited before, it was on my own.

When I was there last summer I got talking to an Outreach Member who told me about the Outreach Group, she explained they organise meetups at different clubs. It’s a perfect way to meet new people and get experience of a new club without having to go in there completely on your own.

I’m really glad I joined and many thanks to Liz and her husband for taking charge of this amazing visit. You are both stars. Looking forward to the next one.

Paul.

Ashdene Naturist Club – January 2024 – A respite from the bleak midwinter

Following a casual “I think….” suggestion on one of the monthly Zoom calls last year, eight of us had a great weekend at Ashdene Naturist Club and enjoyed the entertainment by the Single Barrel rock ‘n roll cover band on Saturday evening.  The weekend happened with excellent leadership from Liz and the help of the Ashdene Visitors team.

As ever, there was a warm welcome from the Ashdene Club members and the club’s facilities make for a relaxed stay, we spent a few hours floating in the hot tub chatting and then swimming in the heated pool whilst happily ignoring Storm Isha whirling around us.  The band on Saturday evening were too good and loud to be ignored from the first note being played and gave us a great evening.
